ABOUT SKY YOGA

All of us wish to lead a happy life. Almighty nature, Providence, as the name indicates, provides everything for life. Science is well developed to remove drudgeries in material life and helps to lead life with all comforts. But our lives, individual and social, continue, to be in a grip of turmoil, disharmony, ill-health, pains and miseries of various kinds.

Thathvagnani Vethathiri Maharishi has identified that the fundamental causes for all this chaos is man's lack of understanding of his self, his relationship with society and nature. These potentialities lead to actions harming self and others.

After decades of meditation and contemplation, Maharishi has developed methods to bring out the hidden capabilities of mind, life energy, bio-magnetism and physical body. The SIMPLIFIED KUNDALINI YOGA system formulated by Maharishi can completely transform our lives and help us lead a healthy, prosperous, harmonious and joyous life which is our birthright.

Shri Vethathiri Maharishi (1911–2006) was a spiritual leader and founder-trustee of “The World Community Service Centre”. From his youth he was driven by the desire for knowledge and in particular strove to find answers to three questions:
  • What is God?
  • What is life?
  • Why is poverty in the world?
The search to find these answers as well as to further his lot in life led him into various fields of endeavor, including becoming a qualified practitioner of two systems of Indian indigenous medicine, Ayurveda and Siddha, and certified practitioner Homeopathy as well.
Although constantly busy with family and business matters, he always found time to pursue his deep desire to achieve self-realization and realization of Truth. Several years of intense meditation and introspection brought him full enlightenment at the age of thirty five.
At the age of fifty he closed his commercial ventures and devoted himself solely to spiritual service so as to guide sincere spiritual aspirants by transmitting and sharing with them his experiences and revelations of Truth.
Vethathiri’s lifetime works are called Vethathiriyam, which literally translates as a roadmap to the mountain of knowledge. He claimed that a deep understanding of nature is essential for living in harmony with the law of nature, while balancing material well-being with spiritual progress.

About WCSC

In 1958 Vethathiri Maharishi founded the World Community Service Centre (WCSC), a non-profit registered society with a view to work towards World Peace through individual peace. As of today, about 400 Trusts and about 2300 Centers/ Sub Centers have been registered and affiliated to WCSC in India, and lakhs of people have benefited physically, mentally, socially and spiritually from the teachings and practices. From 1972 to 1993, he traveled abroad annually, lecturing and teaching extensively in Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and U.S.A.
The World Community Service Centre (WCSC) is to bring peace in the society through peace in the individual. Society is made up of individual human beings. Hence, peace must emanate from individuals, then permeate to the family, and then to the society at large. Ultimately world peace will blossom. The practice and teachings of the W.C.S.C. are made so as to combine and integrate these three aims.
The W.C.S.C. is the vehicle to teach the psychic and physical practices synthesized by Vethathiri Maharishi to achieve realization through introspection, purification and meditation.
The individual’s peace brings harmony within the family, among relatives, friends and in the workplace. One can live a virtuous life of morality, duty and charity, without conflicts. This will lead to peace in society and even the whole world.
